The Creative Arts Academy media arts and visual arts students had the opportunity to experience this year’s Emerging Excellence Event at the Figge Art Museum on March 31st. artsBASICS supported the registration fee for over 70 students.
Iowa’s Emerging Excellence Event celebrated and recognized students' high achievement in art and promotes growth in the National Core Art Standards Artistic Processes. This event was an educational experience that will build confidence in students’ abilities and interest in pursuing art. Students completed a pre-writing activity before the event. This guided their reflection and thinking about their artistic process, preparing them for their interview.

PUTNAM MUSEUM 48- HOUR FILM FEST
artsBASICS supported the registration fee for the Creative Arts Academy students to participate in the Putnam Museum 48- Hour Film Fest! "The Creative Crew" and "The Crew" were among 11 area film teams who came together with one purpose; to create a short film in only 48 hours. From storyboarding to scripting, and to filming and editing these teams created an outstanding roster of films for the community's enjoyment. All of their films were featured on the big screen at the Putnam Museum on October 20th, 2024.
