McKinley Students’ Art Project

The 5th grade students at McKinley School in Davenport partnered with local artists, Pat Bereskin and Brad Bisby to create two large paintings. The students took field trips to Isabel Bloom, Pat Bereskin’s art gallery and to Lindsay Park to create sketches of the East Village. Over the next several weeks the 5th graders worked with Bereskin and Bisby to paint the large canvas. The original paintings will be displayed at City Hall for the month of June followed by local art galleries and libraries in Davenport. This project would not have been possible without the support and vision from teacher leader, Karen Tallman, Girard Graphic Designs, Great Minds Grant, Davenport Morning Optimist Club and the John J. Quail Great River Community Foundation.
